The seven taxi and e-hailing licence classes

Taxi and e-hailing licensing is split into seven classes: Taxi, Car Rental, Luxury Taxi, Airport Taxi, Car Rental with Driver, E-Hailing Vehicle, and E-Hailing Company.

The seven taxi and e-hailing licence classes

Teksi (Taxi) — up to 6 passengers; service types Budget, Executive, TEKS1M.
Kereta Sewa (Car Rental) — up to 6 or 12 passengers, hire-by-trip.
Teksi Mewah (Luxury Taxi) — up to 7 passengers, contract/special hire from a fixed base.
Teksi Lapangan Terbang (Airport Taxi) — up to 7 passengers; airport pickup/drop-off only.
Kereta Sewa dan Pandu (Car Rental with Driver) — government/corporate staff transport.
Kenderaan E-Hailing (E-Hailing Vehicle) — 4 to 11 passengers, app-based booking only.
Syarikat E-Hailing (E-Hailing Company) — operator licence held by the e-hailing platform itself.
